Hyunjun Yang is a painter, sculptor, fashion designer, and video maker.

Hyunjun Yang’s work is based on the negative feelings that occurred to him living in the competitive strict society of South Korea. Born and raised by his fashion designer mother, he pursued his career which included in few fashion shows. While on his path to pursuing BFA in Fashion Design, Hyunjun developed several mental illnesses. To deal with this situation, he started to create art.

Hyunjun has exhibited his work throughout the world including solo and group exhibitions. His work was included in Rebirthing the Unwanted (Kinescope Gallery, New York, NY 2024), GODZILLAS (Latchkey Gallery, New York, NY, 2024), People of Civilian Control Line by Lim Heung-soon in Odusan Unification Observatory, 2022 and the 3rd HK & KOR Art Contest Exhibition in L0 Gallery, Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre, HONG KONG, 2018.

He has been featured in publications such as Hyperallergic and Asian American Art Review Magazine. He received the Silver Award in the 3rd HK & KOR Art Contest and holds a BFA in Fashion Design and Fine Arts from Gachon University. He is currently pursuing an MFA in Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts, expected in 2025.

After living in Seoul, South Korea for 25 years, Hyunjun moved to Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York, in fall 2023.
